The wall systems and finishes represented by the bureau offer energy efficiency, safety, sustainability and beauty for both commercial and residential application. Their features, advantages, history and advances for the Midwest region are highlighted in this section.

Stucco
The Romans knew of the qualities of natural hydraulic cement in stucco applications two thousand years ago.  Stucco today is made with manufactured cement and has been recognized for its beauty and low maintenance qualities for over a hundred years. It has been acknowledged by experts as one of the most durable and low maintenance sidings for today’s style of living. More

EIFS
EIFS is an acronym for Exterior Insulation Finish System. It is a stucco-like product known as much for its versatility as its effectiveness in saving energy. It comes in a variety of colors and textures and can be fashioned to many desirable shapes and aesthetic effects. New research reveals that it outperforms other claddings in both insulating ability and moisture handling performance. More

Veneer Plaster
Developed as an alternative to conventional gypsum plaster, and an improved replacement for drywall. It is more nail pop resistant than drywall, and more crack resistant than lath and plaster. It is versatile and durable with the additional advantage of time saved in application. More

Gypsum Plaster
Based upon conventional plastering techniques that have been developed over centuries, gypsum plaster is superior to drywall or veneer plaster in resistance to abuse, puncture and abrasion. More

Venetian Plaster
Venetian Plaster dates back over 2000 years to Rome’s first architect, Vitruvious who described a seven step process of plastering walls. Today this old world plastering technique is known for its color and rich patina using different hues and shades to bring out a unique polished look or depth of texture unlike any other interior finish material. More

Fireproofing
Plaster has been relied upon for centuries for its fire resistive properties. Recognized by Underwriters Laboratory and the building codes; fireproofing is another plaster craft that was ushered in with the advent of modern structural steel framing. Spray application of lightweight gypsum or cement based materials have greatly reduced costs and speeded up the installation in direct to steel operations. More
